Follow-up Comment #19, bug #57033 (project octave):

I executed the following steps inside my Octave repository
*) reverted all changes
*) updated to changeset 1f07b80db239
*) applied the patch
*) called ./bootstrap
*) created a .build directory

cd .build
 ../configure CPPFLAGS=-I/usr/include/hdf5/serial
LDFLAGS="-L/usr/lib/$(dpkg-architecture -qDEB_HOST_MULTIARCH)/hdf5/serial"
make all -j3
./run-octave

All tests in .build/libinterp/corefcn/qr.cc-tst and
.build/libinterp/corefcn/sparse.cc-tst passed. The minimal steps to reproduce
the error didn't cause problems.

I attached my config.log and a diff of our log files. Most of the differences
are based on different tmp-file names, directory names etc. We use slightly
different kernel-releases and you use the ccache tool. I also searched the
diff for "spqr" and "suitesparse" but the result didn't help me.
