Follow-up Comment #3, bug #57659 (project octave):
Why is Notepad++ shipped with mxe-Octave, anyway?
1) It will be just copied to e.g.
C:\Octave\Octave-5.1.0.0\notepad++
That's it. No fully-fledged installation to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++
no desktop Icon, no Start menu icon, no update, nothing.
2) Linux and Mac variants don't have Notepad++
3) Octave GUI has its own editor since Version 4.0, dating back to May 2015
