                Priority:                7 - High => 3 - Low                
                  Status:               Need Info => Confirmed              
                 Summary:  5.1.90 crash on cygwin => Octave 5 file operations
crash on cygwin

That I am sorry to hear about.

To rebuild 5.1.0 was also one of my next (running out) ideas to see what is
the difference...

It must have something to do with fseek() file position manipulation followed
by some file I/O, closing operations...

Lowering priority, but leave this one open.
