Follow-up Comment #7, bug #57591 (project octave):

@Mike: Thanks for your tests. The segfaults occur only intermittently on the
buildbots. It might be that they only occur when the machine is under heavy
load. E.g. when an mxe job is running on the same machine at the same time.

Could you please try to stress your machine while you are running the test
suite and check if it still doesn't segfault?
