Follow-up Comment #2, bug #57529 (project octave):

This happens 100% of the time. I thought this was similar to what you reported
here last year:

but it doesn't seem to be the case. Instead I now suspect a specific issue
with openSUSE and the qhull library. I notice that the packaged version of
octave (5.1.0) for that distribution was not built with qhull (error:
convhulln/__delaunayn__: support for Qhull was unavailable or disabled when
Octave was built) so maybe it's a known issue.
