Follow-up Comment #3, bug #56889 (project octave):

Since you have access to Matlab, can you compare the files written between
Matlab and Octave? For example, please try reading the file written by Octave
into Matlab, and vice versa. Is the audio written incorrectly by Octave, or is
it only read incorrectly?
