This behavior is specific to the Qt library interacting with the Flatpak file
dialog portal. It can be worked around by disabling native file dialogs in the
Octave settings, as mentioned on the other tracker.

Closing this as it is not a bug in Octave itself, but a bug in the interaction
between Qt and Flatpak.

It may be that we do make a change in Octave at some point in the future to
work around this, but deferring to the Flatpak packaging team to fix it for
now.
