It depends, if you only need to check if the Windows machine is online and that
its network services are responding and working, Monit is perfectly fine for
this. In the scenario described in this thread, that should be good enough. BTW

useful in this situation.
If one needs to monitor the internal state of a Windows machine, then yes,
Monit does not work on Windows. (Unless the unix sub-system has access to
system resources in which case Monit should be able to run on Windows, but I
don’t now and I have never tested this)
