M/Monit supports currently only active-passive HA setup - the reason is, that it caches the data to offload the database and if you use active-active setup with database sharing, this cache won't be coherent on both hosts.

I would like to know if is it possible to have two M/Monit instances running behind a http-balancer, e.g: nginx? My doubt is because I don't know where the m/monit save the http sessions to be possible share with other instances.
