Hello,
the heartbeat alert is sent, if Monit failed to report the status information
to M/Monit within given number of seconds - it usually means, that either the
monitored host crashed or there is some network problem between Monit and
M/Monit.
The time for which M/Monit will wait before sending the alert can be set in the
host admin int he ""Acceptable report skew" as the multiple of monit's poll
cycle length (by default 3 cycles).
