MONIT for Fedora 7 vs. Fedora 14

I am running Fedora 7 on a remote embedded system that communicates via
TCP/IP with a control station that is running Fedora 14. There are user
processes on each system that need to be monitored, as well as system
resources (CPU/cache, memory). TCP/IP link and protocol status are also
required.

The embedded system, acting like a Watchdog timer, will attempt to
restart failed processes three times and report status to control.

I notice that different versions of MONIT come packaged with FC 7 and FC
10. I don't want to do my own build. Any problem running 4.10.1 on the
embedded and 5.1.1 on the control? Will the embedded MONIT be able to
talk to the control MONIT?

I don't want to run MMONIT. The embedded must report failed processes
and its own heartbeat to control. Will this work?

Very Respectfully, Nelson J. Ortiz
