Hi,

the inittab line is OK - it seems that monit exited for some reason:

1.) do you have "set daemon ..." in monit configuration file?
2.) is monitrc owned by root user and has permission mode 0600?

You can add "v" option to the line and check monit log for details (the log target is set by "set logfile" statement).

Regards,
Martin

Hi - I am having trouble getting Monit (and M/Monit for that matter) to run properly through inittab.  I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.

This is what I am seeing in the system log:

May 13 09:56:25 monit init: Id "mo" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

Here is the entry from /etc/inittab:

# Run monit in standard runlevels
mo:2345:respawn:/usr/local/bin/monit -Ic /etc/monitrc

The monit version is:

address@hidden log]# /usr/local/bin/monit -V
This is monit version 5.1.1
