[monit] Monit mails keep on coming, about old issues

Good morning all!
Yesterday I sent an message about faillure-emails for named that kept coming in, even when monitoring was turned off. Well this morning I get 100's of emails with the message that the "Monit instance changed".
Last night I validated the monit instance after restarting it and everything was 'green'. Do I need to add some kind of closing remark to the monit config file to make it stop sending emails, after the problem has been solved or set to unmonitor?
