So in cases where you have upgraded and forgot to unmonitor the
service, you will have to HUP monit to get it to accept a new
checksum?

after upgrade (monitor). If you are using static checksum in monit
control file, you will need to fix it and reload monit configuration
(either "monit reload" or send HUP to monit).
