Hi; I'am trying to set mailserver options for monit
Q1) I tried smtp.gmail.com as mail server but I think we can not set the
authentication information to monitrc. am I right?
Q2) so I set up sendmail on the pc and configured on monitrc as
set mailserver localhost port 25
set alert address@hidden
but monit can not connect to the mailserver. here is the message from the
log
Jun 28 22:05:24 localhost monit[5689]: Sendmail: error receiving data from
the mailserver 'localhost' -- Resource temporarily unavailable
and yes, I can connect to mail server by telnet
telnet localhost 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.localdomain (127.0.0.1).
Escape character is '^]'.
220 localhost.localdomain ESMTP Sendmail 8.13.5/8.13.5; Fri, 29 Jun 2007
09:58:44 +0300
and yes I can send mail by mutt using the mailserver I setup on localhost.
Am I missing some thing here?
Thanks
