What happens if a monitored process crashes and *another* process starts and is assigned the same PID of the crashed process within a monit test cycle?
Hi,You'd have to have an awfully long test cycle. PID's are not assigned randomly, this should and is taken care of by the OS. Although I don't know the specifics.
Don't know about monit, but that's what PID's are for, to identify processes uniquely.
Point being, I wouldn't worry about this. Alex
