Hello,

just a small addition:

If you just want to see if you changed any file, or just want to find
out if the repository changed without really updating try

   cvs -nq upd

'-n' tells cvs not to change any file locally. You still get the
status of all changed files (locally and remote), and all files with
conflicts.
