automake 1.14 is problematic, is it easy for you to revert to 1.13 if it’s a
local install? I’ve only really tested it on OSX, but:
make build-requirements
will build known working versions of some common tools (including automake) and
install them in an MXE specific path that won’t conflict with your normal
system.
