I'm currently trying to build MXE with shared libraries, my final goal being building Qt5 with shared libraries, primarily due to LGPL licensing issues. Also, I am using mingw 64bits.
I have removed all variants of --disable-shared and --enable-static from the src .mk files, and also edited a few patches which I thought were related to static building. My progress has been slim, at best. I've gotten the gcc package to successfully compile, but afterwards most packages fail.
I am wondering if there are any steps I have missed or over done? I've gone through the mailing list archives and the old multi-target and multi-rebase branches (now dropped) but haven't been able to compile shared libraries successfully. Do I have to replace --disable-shared with --disable-static, or some other variation of it? And, would you happen to have a list of patches that need specific editing to enable shared building?
