Hello,
the package gdal currently does not build unless you already downloaded
the source package. That's because the 1.7.0 source package was removed
from the download locations due to a serious bug, see
<http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/Release/1.7.0-News>.
Maybe we should revert to 1.6.3 until 1.7.1 is released.
