Thanks; I was considering something similar myself.
I've applied your patch, although with a couple of minor changes (the
help string now documents --without-libseccomp rather than
--with-libseccomp, since the latter is the default; I regenerated
configure and included that in the commit; and I added a NEWS entry).
It seemed close enough to your patch to commit it under your name.
