change it again to something you like on

The string "val" does not appear in any subscribed address, so the
you-are-not-subscribed message seems correct. I trust you can subscribe
yourself if desired.

The email interface is primarily for list members (not administrators).
Maybe I'm forgetting something, but I don't think it's possible to get
the list admin password by email. (I hope not.)
