I very much appreciate the effort of the users that write those patches, 
but I do not have any plans to incorporate Windows code in my projects.

Would it be possible to incorporate the pread/pwrite implementations of 
Hannes Domani into MinGW? This would solve the problem not only for plzip.

Your executables and consolidated patches are welcome. Thank you. But as 
I said above, I won't apply the patches to the main codebase. Sorry. 
(I'll remove the overloading of xinit and xdestroy, though).

If you find it helpful, include it in the package. It will probably also 
help others to build plzip. ;-)
