Lzip is a lossless data compressor based on the LZMA algorithm, with very safe integrity checking and a user interface similar to the one of gzip or bzip2. Lziprecover is a data recovery tool for lzip-compressed files.

The homepage is at http://www.nongnu.org/lzip/lzip.html.

Changes in this version:

* The option "-0", which produces a compression speed and ratio comparable to those of "gzip -9", has been added to lzip.

  * stdin and stdout are set in binary mode on Cygwin and OS2.

Antonio Diaz, lzip author and maintainer.
