thanks (will see - this looks like the right direction). I'm working
on xterm right now (deadline tomorrow), have a short patch for vile,
then expect to work on dev.15 for 2-3 days. Much of November went to
(besides starting to set up a new development machine) to packaging
stuff (including dev.14) for the VMS freeware cdrom (done).
