Just to clarify what I wrote earlier, you won't see full color without
the terminfo/termcap file showing color, but you can set MSKERMIT
to show whatever colors you wish for normal text and for underlined
text. Foreground and background colors are reversed when reversed is
called in the terminfo/termcap. Bold gives high intensity foreground
color. I have my settings (purely personal preference) as: normal
text (cyan on black), underlined (white on brown). This gives the
lynx selected link (reversed and underlined) as black on cyan and
the WHEREIS (reverse, underlined, and bold) as yellow on light gray.
I don't know why the selected hyperlink doesn't come out brown on
light gray, but it looks like the underline part of the setting gets
ignored. The other MSKERMIT setting which I needed to get color to
look correct for me was to erase in the current color. These settings
in the initialization file come out as:
set terminal color 20 36 40
set terminal under 20 37 43
set terminal erase current

For instructions on setting the colors, from within MSKERMIT type 
"set color ?".
