Same here ( linux-2.2.14, gcc-2.95.2 ) the ssl_patch also aplies to
dev.18 with no complaints.

It seems to connect to https sites ( www.joker.com, and my ISP's time online
page ) however the test page at http://www.moxienet.com/lynx/ssl-test
(which redirects to https://www2.liii.com/cgi-bin/ssl/)
suggests that no secure connection was made.
This begs two questions. Is the test page broken? or of a larger concern,
will a patched Lynx fall back to a non-secure connection when one thinks
SSL is being used? I suppose this question would be best directed to
Mark Mentovai or is he on the list? The second trace shows the same

TCP: Error 115 in `SOCKET_ERRNO' after call to this socket's first connect()
failed.

as the test page leading to the error message, but shows the page with
form entries for username/passwd needed to view time online. This would
at least make me think a secure connection had been established. I have not
snooped the session to see if it is infact encrypted.
Has anyone else mannaged to make the test work?

Thanks for the good work on lynx! -Mark

Here are the parts of trace that look fishy.
Hmm, fishy is normally a good thing.
