iirc, we fixed a problem linking to VMS's libraries (they require a special
prefix for external names to link properly). The quick fix is to try the
current development version (which has that patch, and will save all of us
time by finding if there's other problems with the upcoming 2.8.3). The
individual patches are also on the webpage:
The current version of lynx is 2.8.2 (2.8.3 in development)
