lynx-dev problem with tvgen

I've been exchanging mail with ricklew about his problem with www.tvgen.com
He is using a lynx that I built (since both of us run on BSDI)
I cna't recreate the problem on my system.
Perhaps someone else can help diagnose the problem.
Below is his mail (forwarded with Rick's permission).
It includes a trace of the session that failed.
OIt would be nice if this could be solved before the release...
