Isn't that sort of a chicken-and-egg problem?
Wouldn't it be good to do the work now, so that the final 2.8.2 is able
to compile with Visual C++ 5.0 out of the box?
I don't have any IBM hardware so I don't have a personal need.. it just seems
useful to do it now then merge in changes so it works hopefully from now
on.
