how to change user mode

You can change this interactively via the o)ptions menu.
Press the 'o' key to enter the options screen.
Note that when you press the 'u' key in this menu, you
get to change your user level.

Note the instructions at the bottom of the screen.  You
can try out a different user mode temporarily if you just
r)eturn to your session.  If you return with '>' you will
have changed the settings permanently and your new settings
will be there whenever you start lynx again.
