        This was discussed at length in the HTML-WG before it
closed out.  The consensus was that Netscape should fix its
broken entity/character reference parser instead of all other UAs
braking theirs to be compatible, and there was positive indication
that Netscape would fix it.  Has it in more current versions?

        Though it may seem reasonable that any non-digit (and thus
a letter) terminates that, according the the SGML experts who were
in the HTML-WG, that's not so.
