I suspect that if you wanted to contribute a set of types types of files
to the project, they could be added.  Be sure to contribute some kind of
text description that can be added into an appropriate file, detailing what
software (version of OS, etc.) is required to use them.

Since lynx is a volunteer effort, new ways of compiling and linking get
added typically when someone who really likes the idea takes on the task
of making it work.  See for instance the recent Unix move to adding the
configure program for generating makefiles.
