No, of course it doesn't mean that.  It means the following.  Start
typing a number:

|Follow link number: 1

Continue typing number, and put the letter 'g' (or 'G') on the line
after the number:

|Follow link number: 123 g

(The space is not necessary.)
Then hit enter.  Instead of directly following link [123], Lynx will
just "move to" link [123] in the current document.  

If you don't type a letter 'g', the same will happen as always has
happened.  If you type anything else (after the number) that doesn't 
contain a 'g', the same will happen as always, too. :)

It's a rather crude user interface.  Maybe someone wants to improve it :)
(It may make more sense if you are used to RPN calculators...)
A feature like this has been asked for in the past, so now there is
a (maybe ugly) way to do it.
