for detailed explanations of the problem with the current lynx and tables,
go and read the volume of explanation in the lynx-dev archives.

Perhaps this is one of the things from the archives that should be
extracted, rather than sending folk to the archives - it is so frequent
a question.  Has someone already did the work on extracting at least 
specific pointers?  If so, I hope they do, or will, appear on the lynx
FAQ pages.
