I tried to respond to Greg privately, but received the following:

I'm assuming it's because his Email address is case sensitive, so I'll reply to 
the list.

On my VMS system I have (in userdefs.h):

#define HELPFILE "file://localhost/www_disk/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html"

and (in lynx.cfg):

HELPFILE:file://localhost/www_disk/lynx/lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html
