the Lynx "organization" or "development and maintenance process."

Everybody feel free to comment/correct. Or supply rought dates.

>>> A rough chronology of "Passages" in the life of Lynx: <<<
Lynx Events/phases:

Local development of Lynx at Kansas for Kansas CWIS.

Switch to join WWW -- Lynx converted to WWW formats.

Macrides ports Lynx to VMS. <when?>

Mosaic released. WWW heats up. <When was lynx-dev started?
Was it open to the 'Net from the start?>

Netscape formed, Montulli and Blythe leave Kansas.
External development paced by Macrides outruns internal.

  Kansas imports 2.3.8-FM as 2.4.0

Kansas releases Lynx under Gnu-style Public License.

  Gradual accretion of sites:
     FAQ
     Lynx Enhanced pages
     Dehanced for Lynx pages
     ...

Relocation of support functions from Kansas.
     formation of ListElves side-list
     ftp service from MOREnet
Lead Public Info site to NYU
     lynx-dev to Sig.Net

  First extramural "release" in 2.5

<This is an old sample. You should add 2.6, browser.org
and such stuff you know about...>
