I will keep it in mind and see if I can whip something up. Should I open an issue in the bug-tracker in the meantime? Might also be a good place to discuss which config options we do and don't want to add for getaddrinfo.

However, this won't make it into the 2.1.3 relase but should be a patch against the master branch (which isn't too far from being released as well, but will be numbered 2.2.0 because of some not-so-small changes).
