My apologies for my initial vagueness.
When I used "BSD" I was meaning the generic concept, and so was
referring to stuff that is the same across all the major implementations
and that should (hopefully) be non-contentious. It was not an attempt to
follow a particular implementation, or to force all of a standard on
lwIP :-) ... though I do feel personally that following the RFCs and
specifications at least avoids some confusion; even if other "BSD
socket" systems occasionally differ in implementation.
Basically all I was initially thinking of was the inet_ntop()/pton()
stuff, and the other basic stuff needed to work with IPv6 sockaddr
structures in a portable fashion. So some of the RFC#2553 features.
