The major difference is that lwIP is targeted at systems without much memory,
but normally with a 32 bit CPU. uIP is even smaller, and targeted at very
simple 8 and 16 bit microcontroller systems. They have the same licence as far
as I remember. uIP continues to be developed by Adam at SICS, whereas lwIP is
developed by a team of independent engineers as an open-source project.
