Follow-up Comment #17, task #7490 (project lwip):

Well, it would mainly be:

non-blocking (try) for all calls in api_msg.c (plus TCPIP_APIMSG_ACK) an
sockets.c.

In tcpip.c, both versions would be used:
- non-blocking for tcpip_input (return error value -> driver must free pbuf)
- and blocking for tcpip_netifapi, tcpip_apimsg, tcpip_timeout

only tcpip_callback is a real question: when blocking, it can't be used from
interrupt context!
