Follow-up Comment #2, patch #5789 (project lwip):

Agree with you... Most of timers using lwIP core MUST be in tcpip_thread a
multithreading environment...

Simplify lwIP integration is also important... Perhaps, like there is a
driver skeleton (ethernetif.c), it would be useful to have a "main.c" to have
a clear initialization sequence, but not into ports (which are "old" and not
always maintains).
