Committed 20150806T1443Z, revision 6232: remove '--timestamping'.

'--timestamping'  was entangled with '--no-verbose', but we don't
use the latter anywhere, so I removed both. I'm not terribly
offended by the default verbosity. I removed the comments stating
that '--no-verbose' masks sf.net snafus (or at least it did in 2007),
because we were no longer using it or its predecessor '--non-verbose'
(with two 'n' characters), notably because sf.net is chronically
unreliable. Of course, it would be better to download elsewhence, and
much of the sf.net stuff is probably available at github, but other
work is more important.
