On a machine that has only a basic installation of Cygwin,
without python, I get:
cd ../src/stc && ./gen_iface.py
/usr/bin/env: python: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [../include/wx/stc/stc.h] Error 127
Is python required only for 'stc'?
IIRC, MSYS doesn't supply python, so this could pose a
problem for MSYS as well. Wouldn't it be better to make
'--disable-stc' the default (if nothing else needs it)?
