[lmi] Building Boost without Jam

 Hello,

 Just FYI, someone already did something we discussed recently, namely
adapted Boost to build using standard GNU tools:

        http://boost-extras.sourceforge.net/gnu-boost/gnu-boost.html

 I didn't test it yet but I'll try it out the next time I need to install
Boost somewhere.
