For the moment I have not found any PDF comparison tool which performs
better than combination of a diff with one of the available output
formats of FOP (which is already available).
There was one tool that compared PDFs as images -- it was performing a
XOR on PDF files taken as images and then displayed the result. It was
some proprietary tool, very slow compared to the tools used in
GNUmakefile. I don't its suitable for lmi, but I could try to look
into such an approach (PDF -> image -> XOR(compare)) if you want me
to.
