TAR Bugs:
With the TAR 1.14-2.3 Package installed under Debian 3.1 (Sarge), I am
having problems getting TAR to save Output onto a Remote Host...
The Error Message reads as follows:
bash: line 1: /usr/libexec/rmt: No such file or directory
After trying a few variations of Softlinks for /usr/libexec/rmt the only
Workaround which worked was adding the following to the Command Line:
--rmt-command=/sbin/rmt
Curiously a Softlink from "/usr/libexec/rmt" to "/sbin/rmt" does NOT work
either!!! The last time I know a Remote TAR Save worked was the end of
2006, unfortunately other than that I can NOT pin point when this stopped
working???
NOTE: I have been using Remote TAR Saves for years, this is NOT the first
time I have tried to use it... Yes the Remote Host (CentOS 3.8
in this Case) has been configured to accept Remote rsh/rexec/rlogin
Commands for ROOT on the Sarge Host...
