Why not dump the user back at the faulty settings page and let them check their details?
Why make the user trek back into that screen and have to reenter all the details again?
When you're trying to set up a server and a client at the same time and you just spend all your time re-entering details and navigating through application screens.
From a design perspective - assume the user will not enter the correct details the first time and not have all the information at hand - and design your flow around that.
Just a thought.
