For the interest - what video card do you have? I tested myself on my nVidia 
cards - doesn't work
And other users says that  3.6.1 doesn't work with nVidia.

Sound subsystem works. But without video Linphone is not interested.
There are many other soft for voicecalls. But main Linphone feature
is videocalls.

I can try when will be some time.

Version 3.5.2 works mostly stable on our clients, for long time.
So now, IMHO, better way is rollback PPA to 3.5.2. Until will be fixed this bug.
Because it can take much time.
And during this time many old users will disappointed of Linphone.
Many new users will install Linphone, see it doesn't work
and then "remove and forget".


By the way, I always wrote this in "linphone-users", but will say again...
It would be more accurate to make two PPAs:
https://launchpad.net/~linphone/+archive/release/
https://launchpad.net/~linphone/+archive/testing/
And before putting to release, put to "testing".
This can avoid such bugs.
