Using WebM Project VP8 Encoder v1.X.X
The iPhone version says:
"Using WebM Project VP8 Encoder v0.9.7-p1"
"Using WebM Project VP8 Decoder v0.9.7-p1"
0.9.7-p1 is a bit old. "git log" tells me that it was published around
August 2011. (Debian stable has 1.1.0 and there is a git tag 1.2.0 from
december 2012.)
Anyway I tried to compile a linux linphone with a matching libvpx version,
but libvpx wouldn't compile on Debian wheezy. I tried:
git checkout tags/v0.9.7-p1
git reset --hard
./configure
make
And the result was:
"make: *** [.DEFAULT] Error 2"
Then I found it there:
http://mirrors.dotsrc.org/debian-multimedia/pool/main/libv/libvpx/
I installed the old libvpx-packages, compiled ffmpeg, linphone and
tried a vp8 video call, but it didn't help. Video from linux is still
bad when viewed on iPad or iPhone.
Can anybody else reproduce the vp8 video problem between the precompiled
and self compiled linphone?
